Episode Title: The First Exile

Jeff asked Cirie Fields how she feels about the divisions, she guesses the division as does Shane Powers. Jeff Probst explains how Exile Island will factor into the game rules, keeping players out of communication with their tribe. There is also a challenge right away, to find amulets hidden in skulls. Austin Carty, Danielle DiLorenzo, Terry Deitz, and Ruth Marie Milliman are chosen to compete for their tribes. Terry Deitz is the first to return with an amulet. Austin Carty is the second to return, followed by Ruth Marie Milliman. The girls use rock, paper, scissors and Misty Giles will remain on the island. Jeff Probst explains there is an immunity idol hidden on Exile Island, and if you find it you can use it at any time. It can even be used after you are voted out to save yourself, causing the person with the next highest number of votes to be eliminated.

The Vivero Tribe tribe is the first to arrive and set up camp. They get a fire started right away, and start building a camp. Cirie Fields doesn't have a lot outdoor experience. The Casaya Tribe tribe is next to arrive. Aras Baskauskas starts to use meditation to start fire. It was little help as the tribe is having difficulty with fire and building a fire. At the Bayoneta Tribe Tribe they realize the are a person down, without flint, and have very little experience on how and where to build a shelter. The La Mina Tribe tribe gets a fire and gets underway building a shelter. Terry Deitz and Dan Barry form an alliance right away with similar backgrounds. Shane Powers is going through a rough period fitting in with his tribe.

The first night is accompanied by a rainfall with a lightning storm. Misty Giles is tired, hungry, and dehydrated. Misty Giles tries to mislead the others she found the idol. Three tribes will win immunity. The immunity challenge consists of an obstacle course and mind puzzle. Bayoneta Tribe tribe is the first to complete the challenge, followed by the La Mina Tribe Tribe and the Cassava Tribe. The Vivero Tribe tribe will be sending someone to Tribal Council.

At the Vivero Tribe Tribe, Cirie Fields feels threatened because she the least athletic. Tina Scheer is overcome with emotion about losing her son recently in a car crash. Cirie Fields is working on getting Tina Scheer voted out. Tina Scheer finds a dead fish on the beach, and claims she caught it.

At Tribal Council Jeff Probst asks Melinda Hyder how hard it hard. Melinda Hyder says it's the hardest thing she has done on all levels. Cirie Fields agrees and admits she has not spent a lot of time outdoors. Tina Scheer feels it's exciting and it confident in her abilities. Ruth Marie Milliman is very comfortable with the role Tina Scheer is taking. Jeff Probst is harping on the Tina Scheer Marie role. Tina Scheer gets three votes and is the first person voted out.
